New York, NY – December 15, 2007 – Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Adrienne Bailon,George Lopez, Wisin y Yandel, RBD and Aventura were the big winners of “The 1st Annual Mi TRL Awards” (http://www.mtvtr3s.com/mitrl/awards/) presented by MTV Tr3́s on Saturday, December 15th. Hosted by VJs Carlos Santos and Karli Henriquez, the awards show recognized and honored the people and music that make “Mi TRL” the “must watch” show for U.S. Latinos. It was packed with some of today’s hottest artists performing, accepting and presenting awards, along with a surprise and rare public appearance by Diddy who opened the show to the delight of the fans who attended the awards show.
Live performances by Mexican pop sensation RBD, whose new album “Empezar Desde Cero” just debuted in the #1 slot on the Latin music charts and Wisin y Yandel, one of today’s biggest selling reggaeton artists who performed “Ahora Es” from their chart-topping album “Los Extraterrestres” brought down the house.
Other celebrity appearances were made by Will Smith, Jessica Alba, Menudo, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, and Jaslene Gonzalez and Zuleyka Rivera.
Anna Flores, a 22 year old Texan and recent graduate from the University of Texas at Pan-American, was the lucky MTV Tr3́s viewer selected from among hundreds of entries as the winner of the “Pepsi Viewers Choice Award Casting Call Challenge.” She was thrilled to co-present the “Pepsi Viewers Choice Award for Best Video” to RBD.
“Winning the casting call challenge is a dream come true. I just love watching ‘Mi TRL’ and think Carlos is the funniest! Being Hispanic is a blessing so thanks to MTV Tr3́s for putting our sabor Latino out there,” said Anna.
