FROM GOING TO REHAB TO LIVING IN THE PROJECTS MTV NEWS & DOCS EXPLORES NEW AND COMPELLING STORIES WITH FRESH EPISODES OF “TRUE LIFE” ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1ST AT 2PM ET/PT

New York, NY – November 20, 2007 – MTV News & Docs will air four new episodes of its award winning series “True Life” on Saturday, December 1st beginning at 2pm ET/PT.  During this four hour installment viewers will learn more about some of the most compelling topics and better understand the issues that affect young people today.  This block will feature “True Life”: I’m Looking for my Father,” “True Life”: I’m Going To Rehab,” “True Life”: I Live In the Projects” and “True Life”: I’m In An Arranged Marriage.  MTV’s “True Life” engages and informs viewers by telling stories through first person accounts offering them an inside look into the lives of other people. 

The following is a more detailed description of each episode:

True Life: I’m Looking For My Father” - Everyone wants to know where they come from, in this episode of “True Life”, MTV follows three young people Jaimie, Craig and Meghan all desperate to connect with their long-lost fathers in hopes of finding themselves in the process. 

True Life: I’m going to Rehab” - An estimated 23 million Americans are addicts.  Cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, oxycontin, alcohol—no matter what the drug of choice, addiction is a downward spiral leading to the same lonely place.  In this episode of “True Life” viewers will join Adam and Dustin as they enter the fight of their lives.

True Life: I Live in The Projects”- They have a reputation for crime, violence, and drug use—but for hundreds of thousands of low-income Americans—federally-subsidized housing, or the projects, is often the only place they can live.  On this episode of “True Life”, MTV cameras follow Dino, Vikki, and Jenn as they attempt to overcome the harsh reality of living in some of the most notorious neighborhoods in the country. 

True Life: I’m in An Arranged Marriage” - This episode of “True Life” will take an intimate look at the cultural barriers between love, marriages and arranged marriages and explore the reasons and emotions involved with gaining a mate through arrangement.  Viewers will meet Najwa, a moderate muslim who is set up by her family to marry a more conservative man; Arwa, an integrated young woman in her culture who is considered too old to get married and is feeling the pressure to find someone through an arrangement; and Rohit, a lifetime bachelor with no prior dating experience who’s ready to meet his wife for the second time and become a husband.

Viewers can go to http://Think.MTV.com to find resources and content to help them cope with the issues featured in these episodes.  The Think Community will educate and connect viewers with content and provide them with the necessary help.  Viewers can locate rehab facilities, learn more about drug treatment, find out more about public housing and the programs available to those in need and more. 

“True Life” explores topics relevant to young people by telling their stories through first-person accounts and delves into issues on cultural trends covering matters relating to lifestyle subjects such as health, sex drugs, spirituality, money and more.
