Wisin y Yandel Will be Featured on Huge MTV Tr3s National Puerto Rican Day Parade Float

NEW YORK, NY, June 3, 2008 --- MTV Tr3s and reggaeton sensation Wisin y Yandel have teamed up to celebrate the music, spirit and pride of Puerto Rico in one-of-a-kind performances, street signage, concerts and network programming June 5th – 28th.
As part of the celebration leading up to this year’s National Puerto Rican Parade, the MTV Times Square studio windows will be draped in dramatic and art-like images of Wisin y Yandel and other Puerto Rican symbols starting on June 5th. It is the first time MTV has lent its world-famous windows to the Puerto Rican celebration.
On June 8th, el duo de la historia Wisin y Yandel will demonstrate why they are one of Puerto Rico’s leading musical acts as they greet fans and perform from the MTV Tr3s Puerto Rican Day Parade float. Wisin y Yandel, Latin Grammy nominees and winners of the MTV Tr3́s Viewer Choice Award for Best Urban Artist, are breaking records with hits like “Sexy Movimiento”, “Ahora Es,” and “Oye Donde Esta el Amor.” The duo recently brought out a crowd that topped 40,000 when they performed on the MTV Tr3s stage during Fiesta Broadway in Los Angeles and sold out the 13,000-seat Staples Center, also in Los Angeles, as part of their Extraterrestres tour.
The 2008 National Puerto Rican Day Parade will be held along Fifth Avenue (44th to 86th Streets) on Sunday, June 8th starting at 11 AM and is open to the public. The MTV Tr3s float is a massive 34-floot long by 12 ½ feet high moving stage complete with the most sophisticated sound and lighting to ensure that parade goers get the most out of the Wisin y Yandel performances. It is the second year MTV Tr3s participates in the Parade and last year featured Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
MTV Tr3s will share the excitement of the Parade with viewers across the country during its marquee network program, “Mi TRL” hosted by Carlos Santos on June 12th at 4 PM.

MTV Tr3s is also a sponsor of the duo’s Extraterrestres tour which comes to Madison Square Garden on June 7th . Additional concert dates are June 27th at the House of Blues in Orlando and June 28th at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
In late May, “Mi TRL”’s Santos, who is Puerto Rican, was honored at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Educational/Leadership Project banquet for his accomplishments in education and media.
