ABOUT MTV2’s Guy Code

MTV2 will offer MALE-ENNIALS the ultimate guide to the laws of manhood with the premiere of the original weekly series “MTV2’s Guy Code” on Tuesday, November 15th at 11 pm ET/PT. 

In this weekly half-hour comedic series, viewers will learn the ins and outs of the special code that exists between bros, told through talking-head style commentators, absurd humor, and funny and inappropriate animation. The show will feature today’s pop culture entertainers, top comics, athletes and specialized experts, to unearth the rules for any and every situation in life, from man-scaping to man-crushes, strip clubs to sexting, bottle-service to karaoke etiquette, and many more. In addition, celebs will share what makes a “Good Ass Night”, and the show will profile guys who’ve managed to land the “Best Job Ever.”

As discussed on MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” guy code aficionado Vinny Guadagnino will make special guest appearances on the show throughout the ten episode long season. Other talent on the show includes: Andrew Schulz (comedian, MTV's “New Year's Eve Bash,” Music Choice's “Certified”), April Rose (model, Maxim “Hometown Hottie”), Dan St. Germain (comedian, “World of Jenks,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”), Dean Edwards (comedian, “Saturday Night Live”), Donnell Rawlings (comedian, Chappelle Show), Jordan Carlos (comedian, “The Colbert Report”) and Lil Duval (comedian, “Hood State of the Union”), among others.

Guy Code was developed by Ryan Ling who also serves as Executive Producer. Paul Ricci and Darin Byrne are Executive Producers for MTV2. Andrew Stuckey is Director. The series is an original production by MTV Networks.

ALESHA RENEE (@alesharenee)
As an Actress and TV personality, Alesha Reneé has appeared on E! News Now, HotWyred, The 5ive, BET Now, Spring Bling and the BET Awards Pre-Show. Alesha has also been taped by several brands to be the face and voice behind multiple campaigns including Proctor & Gambles "My Black is Beautiful" campaign and tour. She is the ongoing host and spokesperson for McDonald's "Men of McCafe," a national community action initiative encouraging young men to be active in their community. In between her busy time jet-setting from set-to-set, Alesha has made time to pursue her passion for acting, landing key roles in films produced by the Hughes Brothers , Warner Bros,PBS and Investigation Discovery (I.D.).

ANDREW SCHULZ (@andrewschulz)
Andrew is a native New Yorker known for his edgy, street-smart, unapologetic comedy that relates so well to the newest generation of comedy fans; his youthful energy makes him irresistible to the audience. A regular in the New York comedy circuit, Andrew has performed at Gotham Comedy Club, Caroline's, Comedy Cellar and more. He’s also performed alongside the country’s top acts such as Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Louis CK, Damon Wayans, Tracy Morgan, Bill Burr, Judah Friedlander, and more. Andrew hosts Certified on the Music Choice channel, and is credited with bringing the show to the #1 spot in the history of the network. His other credits include two pilots for BET: The Rewind and The Blog Report, MTV’s New Year’s Eve Bash, and a writing/voiceover gig on the new stop-motion animated series It’s All Elementary.

APRIL ROSE (@tweetaprilrose)
Born just north of Chicago, April’s media career was initially coupled with creative work behind the camera -- After discovering a passion for art direction, she warmed up to the front of the camera, becoming the “Loop Rock Girl” for Chicago’s classic rock radio station in 2007. In 2008, she won Maxim’s Hometown Hottie contest and became co-host for the Chicago Bears pre-game show “The Chicago Huddle.” Her career now includes work for WGN-America, ABC Chicago and Comcast Sportsnet. This year, she graced the cover of Maxim’s first Canadian issue and covered red carpet events, the SXSW festival and the Super Bowl for Maxim.

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD (@cthagod)
Growing up Lenard McKelvey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Charlamagne Tha God was just another kid dreaming of a better life, yet inevitably falling prey to the allure of the streets. He stumbled upon his calling in the late 90s and within five years, was one of the best known voices in South Carolina. While on the air in Columbia, he drew attention to the local show he hosted on Hot 103.9 (WHXT-FM) by distributing his controversial interviews and skits online. His irreverent interview style got the attention of Wendy Williams, who rebroadcast his interviews on her popular syndicated radio show, The Wendy Williams Experience. Working with Williams not only introduced Charlamagne to a new audience, it strengthened the voice that has defined Charlamagne’s career, a voice he now uses to reach audiences in print, television and radio. With his work as a public figure, a record industry executive and an entrepreneur, which has drawn accolades and media coverage from Fox 5 New York, XXL Magazine, and appearances on BET, VH1, and MTV,  Charlamagne has never lost sight of  the fact that the primary purpose for his success is to better the lives of others. Today, he executes that purpose through his non-profit, Third Eye Awareness.

CHRISSY TEIGEN (@chrissyteigen)
Although originally planning to be a chef, Christine “Chrissy” Teigen discovered a passion for modeling at a young age. Chrissy started her career as a swimsuit model and has since moved on to working with major labels all over the world. Chrissy has caught the eye of many photographers including Walter Iooss and Raphael Mazzuco.  Both photographers have had the chance to shoot Chrissy for the very prestigious Sports Illustrated Swim Issue, which she has been featured in many times. Chrissy has also been featured in Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Italian Vogue, and most recently, the cover of Ocean Drive Magazine. Throughout her career, Chrissy has also been the face of numerous brands including; Billabong, Rock and Republic, Ed Hardy, and Beach Bunny Swimwear, for whom she was also a fashion week correspondent. She has also taken part in various Jimmy Kimmel sketches for Sports Illustrated and in 2010 was a reoccurring guest host for EXTRA with Mario Lopez.

DAMIEN LEMON (@dlemoncomedy)
Brooklyn native Damien Lemon's comedy career began from his seat in the back of public school classrooms over 20 years ago and continued at his college alma mater, Clark Atlanta University, where he fine-tuned his ability to make people laugh until they cough and choke. Over the last few years, he has rapidly built a name for himself on the New York City comedy circuit and beyond. On stage, his material comes from everywhere and nowhere, from fornicating politicians driving up sex prices to the "Stop BCC'N!" campaign, and is delivered with a flair that can best be described as an all-inclusive bug-out session.

Dan St. Germain’s standup has been featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, MTV’s World of Jenks, and College Humor Live. He’s also been seen on MTV’s New Year’s Eve Bash, VH1′s Big Morning Buzz, Hoppus on Music, The Electric Company, Comedy Central.com’s Indecision 2010, Spike TV.com, Jokes.com, Atom.com, and in a Bushmills Whisky Ad Campaign. He’s written for the Onion Sports Network, Onion News Network, Silent Library, Hoppus on Music, and been featured on WTF with Marc Maron, Keith and the Girl, and Sirius Radio. He appeared as a “New Face” at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival in 2011 and has been nominated for Best Emerging Comic and Best Male Standup at the ECNY Awards.

DEAN EDWARDS (@IAmDeanEdwards)
As an internationally recognized performer, Dean Edwards has entertained audiences worldwide, touring on comedy festivals throughout the U.S., Europe, South Africa, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. A former cast member of Saturday Night Live, Dean’s energetic performances, insight on pop culture and arsenal of impressions, including Denzel Washington, Jay-Z, Chris Rock and Li’l Wayne have made him a favorite on the college and club circuit. Dean has made countless appearances on “The Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “Last Call with Carson Daly”, and is a frequent comedic commentator on VH1 AND B.E.T. programming. Most recently he was chosen to replace Eddie Murphy as the voice of Donkey in Dreamworks’ Scared Shrekless Halloween special. In 2009 Dean’s first CD, Real Talk with Fake People, Volume 1 debuted at the top of iTunes comedy charts and he released an hour-long comedy special/DVD with Salient Media in 2010.

Donnell Rawlings is an overnight success a decade in the making. You’ve seen him on Comedy Central’s critically celebrated Chappelle’s Show as ‘Ashy Larry’ and as Day-Day Price on HBO’s Emmy-Award winning series The Wire. His unique brand of observational humor earned Donnell co-hosting duties on Power 105’s (NY’s #1 Hip Hop and R&B radio station) morning show “Egypt and Ashy in the Morning”. He is now co-hosting “The Big Tigger Morning Show” on WPGC in Washington DC. Currently, Donnell can be seen regularly on E!’s hit show Chelsea Lately and MTV’s  Hatin.’ His new 1 hour stand-up special Ashy to Classy premiered on Comedy Central October 23, 2010. Additionally, Donnell has starred in Reality Bites Back for Comedy Central and tours heavily with his stand up dates.

JOHANNA BOTTA (@Johannabotta)
After competing in the Miss Peru pageant in 2008, Johanna Botta became a cast member of MTV’s The Real World: Austin. Since then, she has been a reoccurring cast member on a number of MTV reality shows, including Fresh Meat, The Gauntlet III, The Island, and The Ruins. Beyond reality television, Botta is an actress who has appeared on the television shows One Life to Live and Law and Order: CI, as well as the 2008 film Joe Dick. Botta was featured in the online version of Maxim’s "Sexy Girls of Maxim" video, was included in E!’s Sexiest Women of Reality TV, and has posed for Stuff and Maxim magazine. She also acts as a correspondent/host for LXTV and hosted MTV’s Real World Brooklyn Special.

JON GABRUS (@jongabrus)
Jon Gabrus is an actor, host, writer and long time improviser at the UCB theatre. Jon can currently be seen hosting the MTV game show The Substitute and is also the current host of BBC-America’s sports series segment, Gabrus on Rugby.  Some more of Jon’s recent credits include hosting the Comedy Central pilot Highdeas, guest starring on the Comedy Central series Big Lake, co-writing and starring in a 6-episode comedy series for Spike called Mocap, LLC and hosting a 16-part web series for College Humor and Norelco called The Crucial Man.  He has written for the Spike TV Video Game Awards, College Humor, Atom, and several others.  He also shot a supporting role in the Mila Kunis/Justin Timberlake romantic comedy Friends with Benefits and regularly plays a “Girlie Show writer” or “Friend of Liz” on NBC’s 30 Rock.

JORDAN CARLOS (@jordancarlos)
Jordan is a popular New York alternative comic, who regularly appears as a VH1 talking head and has been in a string of commercials for AOL, Pepsi, and the Washington Post. He was recently nominated as Best Male Comic of the Year by ECNY (Emerging Comedians of New York) and was one of the New Faces at a recent Montreal Comedy Festival.  He is currently starring in the new series for MTV, I Just Want My Pants Back.  His previous TV credits include guest starring roles on Showtime's Nurse Jackie, NBC’s Mercy and ABC’s Ugly Betty as well as being a series regular on ESPN’s Mayne Street.  He’s also well known for his hilarious videos for CollegeHumor.com and for his spot on Barack Obama impression.

JULIAN MCCULLOUGH (@julezmac)
Now that he can finally afford the rent in New York City, Julian McCullough has moved to Los Angeles to continue his rise in the comedy world. He has been featured as a "New Face" at the Just For Laughs Festival in 2007, won the "New York's Funniest" comedy competition in 2008, filmed his comedy special for "Comedy Central Presents" in 2009, hosted the 2 hour special "40 Funniest Fails" for VH1 (two additional specials are set to air in October) and recently appeared on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." In addition to his face, Julian's voice has also enjoyed comedic success. He has been featured on the hugely popular Marc Maron podcast "WTF?" and has performed two original stories he wrote about himself on public radio's highest rated program, "This American Life." Most recently, Julian returned to the Just For Laughs comedy festival in 2011 to tape a spot for HBO's "Funny as Hell" series.

LIL DUVAL (@lilduval)
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Roland Powell adopted the stage name "Lil Duval" to pay homage to his hometown Duval county. Powell got his start doing stand-up in Atlanta where he became a regular at the Uptown Comedy Corner. After performing at the Oakland Bay Area Competition in 2001, Powell was approached by Cedric the Entertainer’s road manager and was invited to perform on the Budweiser tour with Cedric, as well as the television special Cedric the Entertainer: Starting Lineup. In 2003, he released the underground comedy DVD Dat Boy Funny. Soon after, Powell became a regular featured performer on 3 seasons of BET’s ComicView. In 2005, Powell released his second DVD Put Your Hands on Me and appeared in Three 6 Mafia's independent film, Choices II: The Setup. In addition to stand-up comedy, Powell also writes for Ozone magazine and has appeared in music videos for T.I., Big Kuntry King, Yung Joc, and Young Jeezy.

MELANIE IGLESIAS (@MelanieIglesias)
Melanie Iglesias is a born-and-raised New Yorker, hailing from Brooklyn. In an annual search for the nation's sexiest unknown girl, Melanie beat over 7,000 hopefuls and earned the title of Maxim Magazine's 2010 Hometown Hotties Champion.  Maxim further recognized her unique beauty and presence by placing her at the number 100 spot on their annual definitive list for the world's most beautiful women, the Maxim Hot 100 of 2011.  A quick YouTube search yields a packet of sexy and funny Flip Book videos Melanie created which drew millions of hits and gained her even more loyal followers.  Proving to be more than just a pretty face, Melanie is now up for lead roles in featured films, commercials and more.

VINNY GUADAGNINO @VinnyGuadagnino
Staten Island born and bred Vinny Guadagnino is a self-described "mama's boy" and a natural entertainer. During the first season of “Jersey Shore,” Vinny was known as the youngest, most innocent of the group, and avoided most of the drama in the house.  Vinny is now front and center and is tackling the scene on both sides of the Atlantic. Before “Jersey Shore,” Vinny graduated from CUNY College of Staten Island and was a political aide for State Assemblyman Michael Cusick.  He had planned to attend law school, but since the show took off, Vinny’s professional interests have shifted from the law to entertainment and acting.  He recently guest-starred on MTV’s scripted comedy series “The Hard Times of RJ Berger,” playing the role of RJ’s cousin and will be in an upcoming episode of “90210”. Vinny launched a line of t-shirts for the charity “I Have A Vision,” with proceeds donated to anti-bullying.  Vinny has been a presenter at the GLAAD awards, and is a social media juggernaut, with nearly 2 million loyal Twitter followers.
