“Total Request Live”, aka “TRL”, is an hourlong show broadcast live from MTV’s studio in the heart of New York’s bustling Times Square. Hosted by a rotating group of VJs that includes Damien Fahey and LaLa Vazquez, “TRL” brings a colossal mix of the hottest music and biggest celebrities to a hyper excitable live studio audience and the most clued-in collection of viewers imaginable. “TRL“‘s celebrity guests are strictly A-list, ranging from musicians such as Fall Out Boy, Beyoncé and Kelly Clarkson to actors like Will Smith, Chad Michael Murray and Lindsay Lohan.

Each day (except Friday, when everyone gets some much deserved time off), “TRL” counts down the 10 most popular music videos in the country. From the beginning “TRL” has always been about your requests, and while music is still a huge part of your lives, the way you enjoy that music has certainly evolved. The “TRL” countdown is now a reflection of your votes online plus your top songs and artists from all the places you go for music. We’re taking everything into account… the top streams on mtv.com, your votes, online downloads, music charts, the biggest ringtones, what you’re listening to on the radio, and more… and combining it to create the hottest, most all-inclusive video countdown around!

And, as if that isn’t enough, additional music videos are shown in various “TRL” segments such as “On Deck,” which highlights five videos that just fall short of the countdown, and “Pre-RL,” showing videos from up-and-coming artists who are expected to land on the countdown any day now.

And that’s not all! “TRL” also gives you exclusive interviews with the hottest stars, access to video premieres and 1st Looks at all the latest videos. There are even celebrity co-hosts, including Laguna Beach’s Steven Colletti, Rihanna and Hilary Duff. And there are often jampacked themes like Spankin’ New Music Week and My “TRL” Week. There’s always something exciting going on in the “TRL” studio!

Plus, at “TRL”, having the audience surround and interact with the guests makes the experience unlike any other on TV. The enthusiastic screaming is deafening!
