New York, NY - (August 30, 2007) – With the latest talent announcement, the "2007 MTV Video Music Awards" is about to draw enough star power to the Palms Hotel Casino to black out the entire Las Vegas strip. Scheduled to utter the words "And The Moon Man goes to…" live on September 9th are some of Hollywood's most beautiful and famous including the cast of Entourage, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Pamela Anderson, Alicia Keys, Robin Thicke, Shia LaBeouf, Nicole Scherzinger, Megan Fox, Jennifer Hudson, Rosario Dawson and Eve. In addition, 50 Cent, Akon and Souljah Boy have been added to the already amazing lineup of performers.
The "2007 MTV Video Music Awards" will air live from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT.) The non-stop party includes performances by Kanye West, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Chris Brown, Mark Ronson, T-Pain, Cee-Lo, Common, and Gym Class Heroes. In addition, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland are set to host a Fantasy Suite party. Timbaland will also do double duty as the official Maestro of the VMAs, while critically acclaimed producer, artist and DJ Mark Ronson will rock the party in The Pearl with help from his turntables, horn section and surprise guests. The Ballots for the "2007 MTV Video Music Awards" were sent out for the first time to artists and musical tastemakers as well as to an exclusive industry group and viewers who determined the nominees for the telecast. Approximately 50 viewers and individuals representing record labels, music journalists, video directors and music producers, selected the nominees for awards categories encompassing such wide-ranging contemporary music forms as rap, dance, R&B and rock. Ballots are cast online and duplication is avoided through a special control number assigned to each ballot, which can only be tallied once.
